I should clarify, I'm referring to Phantasy Star Online -> Phantasy Star Universe.

I realize PSO isn't the best game out there, but it was something special for its time, and PSU made the player controls seem so much more dynamic that I fucking jumped out of my seat in anticipation.

Long story short: The game ended up being as shallow as PSO, except it lacked all of PSO's awesome art and music.

I enjoyed Fallout 3 to pieces, and that's part of why I made this, there's no objectivity to a game's quality.

But the ugly truth is that when you make a new game with existing intellectual property, there will always be a considerable group of people who feel betrayed.

Though I don't share your view, I share your pain, that's why I kept it vague.

Epic. Same thing happened with Maximo, only it wasn't terrible.

You words are wise indeed.
I know many people who enjoyed f3, some played f1&2 and some won't ever try it because they think new generation graphics are necaessary to enjoy a game.
I tried to play f3 and after 2 days I must have quit, because I was almost bored to death. Every single reference to original fallouts seemed horribly forced. Not to mention the whole thing looked like Oblivion. I hate Bethesda with every fibre of my being for what they've done to my beloved series, but that's just me.

I have a burned copy of PSO for my dreamcast, but the only one I've really played is the PSP one...
